Contrast and Brightness

  1. Turn off room lights and close any windows that are shining on your screen.

  2. Adjust the contrast on your monitor to maximum.

  3. Adjust the brightness on your monitor so that you can see all the shades of gray from pure black to pure white. The top row show also alternate between pure black squares and very dark gray (almost black).

  4. You may have to adjust the gamma setting on your monitor if the brightness doesn't give you enough adjustment range (see links below)
